G!VE-it-AWAY – Enter to #WIN a Sympathy, Get Well, or Meal Stork Meal Package from @TheTLCkitchen

June 30, 2012 by Shauna 39 Comments

A couple months ago a good friend of mine had a baby. I was very excited for her and wanted to do something special for her. Normally I would make a yummy meal and bring it to my new Mommy friend’s home, but being as she lives hundreds of miles away, I was at a loss. This is when I wish I knew about The TLC Kitchen.

The TLC Kitchen offers a wide variety of meal deliveries for new moms, sick friends or family members, as well as sympathy food. What a concept, right? The TLC Kitchen makes it possible to send Home Style Meals prepared in USDA Approved Kitchen, for families of four to twelve family members, nationwide!

This is the box the food came in!

We were given the opportunity to review a lasagna meal from The TLC Kitchen and it was so YUMMY! Okay, I am getting ahead of myself, let me start at the beginning. Our order began with a phone call from a sweet and lovely lady from The TLC Kitchen confirming our address and order. This call also informed me of when I would be receiving our package and that the package would be on dry ice, so if we are not home at the time of delivery, it should be okay until we arrive. A few days later, on the day it was promised, our HUGE box arrived and I opened it immediately to find a Styrofoam Box packed with dry ice, a lasagna, a bag of Green Beans Almandine,  a package of French bread, as well as, a baked Apple Pie. I could not believe how much food was in this box. Oh, and it comes with a personalized card;  I tell you, it is the little things that mean the most, right?

This is what I found when I removed the dry ice!

Can you say YUMMY???

Everything was very easy to prepare with directions on each item. The lasagna was amazing; you know, even my Mother-in-Law, who is very particular about lasagna liked it and ate a HUGE piece. It really tasted like it was home-made and not store-bought! The bread tasted very fresh and the green beans were delectable. The Apple Pie topped off this this wonderful meal and was GONE in no time.

My Father-in-Law was in heaven with the pie!

I have already bookmarked The TLC Kitchen on my computer, so that next time I am faced with wanting to provide something special for someone, I can easily make my purchase.

I would like the “nourishment for the body and soul” vegetable lasagna. It sounds delish, and right now, I think my whole family could use this. Thanks!

I am leaning toward the Meat Lasagna but can’t say 100% sure unless I win bc its so hard to choose ONE when they all are so awesome either for us or for a caring helpful gift.

I am leaning on sending this meal to my young adult daughter who is VERY poor and she works 2 FULL time jobs in order to be able to pay her rent and expenses as well as to completely save up to pay her own way thru college. She only gets about 4 hours sleep a night because of this and she can’t afford to eat very well so she could prepare this and freeze into portions so it would last awhile for her ..

My parents are both ill so the get well meal would be ideal. it would take a load off to not have to cook just one meal.

I just found out today my Godmother, my aunt violet who I am very close to is dying from lymphoma.. I am not sure how much time she has left but I want to change my previous answer under the circumstances instead of hoping to win to send this to my poor daughter who doesnt eat well… I would send this to my aunt and her husband to share with their son and grandson and any loved ones stopping by to spend time with her before its too late. : ( Or if she passes too quickly then I’d send it as a sympathy meal : ( Thank you
