We Will Stay Strong… and Together…

I am a huge advocate of families. Every family begins and ends in different ways. I came from a crazy family, where I have three siblings that I am not full-siblings to, ha, ha, ha! I know that sounds confusing, but with children out of wedlock and divorce I know I am not alone. My Mom was married twice, my father was married three times and I never thought anything about it. I remember in my school, I was one of MANY children who lived in two separate homes, with separate parents. It was odd to find a friend whose parents were still together, ha, ha, ha!!! Which is really funny, because out of my siblings, we are all STILL married and none of us have been through a divorce. I often wonder if it is because we are children of divorce, that we are heck-bent on staying married?

Meanwhile, Hubby came from a different family where his parents have been married for many, many years. He has never know the instability that often comes with divorce, though he grew up with many friends who were children of divorce.

The crazy thing is that we have friends who come from all sides of marriage, some who began with prenups, some who saved their marriage with mediation, and some who have needed an Orlando family attorney to help them through a divorce or separation.  I often wonder if there is a right or wrong on marriages and why some last and some don’t? I know that some marriages HAVE to end; I am not blind to abuse or infidelity nor do I judge ANYONE, for what they do. But, I will say that as I watch my In-laws, I am in awe that after so many years they are still happy and in my heart I KNOW that Hubby and I will be just like them…
