Today I had the pleasure of finding my SLEEP NUMBER, which happens to be a 35! Let me start from the beginning… we purchased a new mattress a couple of years ago and though it “promised” to end my sleepless nights, it has not. The mattress which is supposed to form to my body leaves a lot to be said and I end up sleeping with one pillow behind me, propping me on my side, one under my knees, and one under my head. I tend to wake a couple of times and still wake with aches and pains.
Today we began our journey at the SLEEP NUMBER Store at La Cantara Mall, in San Antonio. We were greeted by some friendly associates who explained that they are in the process of updating their system, so were unable to show us the whole system, but thankfully were still able to explain and show us the SLEEP NUMBER system.
He explained that he suggests that new SLEEP NUMBER customers find their number then try it for a couple of weeks before adjusting it.
The associate helped me begin by chosing the perfect pillow, I then laid down on the comfortable bed. He began by allowing me to feel the bed at the number 100. From there, he lowered it all the way to 25. It was crazy feeling the bed almost swallow me as this happened.

From 25 we went up slowly until I began feeling more comfortable. The funny thing is that I had assumed I would be like an 85 or something, but it turns out, I was only a 35!
Next was Hubby’s turn.
Unlike me, Hubby tends to like a much softer bed and chose 25 as his SLEEP NUMBER.
The Associate then showed us the Temperature Balance system which is available in the i10 beds.
It was very neat learning about the moisture-wicking technologies that help keep you comfortable through the night. It was very cool feeling the difference in the two sides and there was a definite coolness to the temperature Balance side.
What I thought was very nice was being able to find our SLEEP NUMBER knowing the kids weren’t getting in too much trouble as they played nicely at the little play area provided by the store.
Of course, that didn’t stop them from trying a bed or two, as well!
All in all, our sales associate was very knowledgable and friendly. He answered all of our questions and explained all about the SLEEP NUMBER DualAir technology. I was happy to find out that if we purchased our own SLEEP NUMBER bed that Hubby would be able to adjust his side to his number, while I adjusted mine to my number. Though we didn’t try the new SLEEP NUMBER Memory Foam or FlexFit Adjustable Base, we were overall very happy with our experience.
