Holidays are coming, what are some of YOUR staying healthy tips? (#NSNation, #spon)

As the holidays approach my mind is filled with thoughts of eating. I know, we all go through it; we see those magazines with the yummy recipes and think, maybe I will step away from the healthy eating just for the holidays. Then the new year begins and we have all gained a good ten pounds and we make up excuses on why it is okay. Well, this year I will not let that be okay. Instead, what I am doing is looking for Healthier recipes.

This year I will be skipping the ‘cream of’ sauce in the green bean casserole and will be using fresh veggies instead of creamed corn. Instead of the white yeast rolls, I will do a multi-grain roll!

Now, this doesn’t mean that I will deprive myself of all the yummies. That is what I LOVE about what Nutrisystem has taught me; that as long as you don’t go overboard, you can have a taste or little bite of the things you want, such as fudge or holiday cookies.

The holidays are also a time NOT to give up on your normal gym routine. I know many of us add a number of items to our to-do lists, but do yourself a favor, don’t mark your normal workout routine off your list.

What are some of YOUR tips for staying healthy during the holidays???

What YOU can do to help us stay on track:

Hubby, my Mother-in-Law and I are all officially a part of the Nutrisystem Nation Blogging Program! Here is what you can do to help – I am a WIMP, I admit it… Hubby, is not… when he puts his mind to something he becomes obsessed! Meanwhile, Mother-in-Law is new on the program, so she needs as much support as possible.

So, we can all use your help! I will be writing weekly and monthly posts with any and all updates… I would appreciate if YOU could help me by reading and commenting on these posts with words of wisdom, advice, and pats on the back! It will help me, knowing that y’all are joining us in this journey…

  1. Staying fit does not go on a break, nor does it go on a holiday – every day is getting fit and healthy.

  2. I’m excited to implement the new things I’ve learned about portion control and healthier food thanks to Nutrisystem. I have a goal to not gain weight this Holiday season because I have learned a lot more about healthier choices and better size control.

Keep up the routine you have established but allow yourself to have the special foods that are associated with the holiday….just keep moderation in mind.

  5. Honestly, I don’T really have any tips… I kid of let loose, well not too much. Because it’s only once a year! Obviously I have my boyfriend there to remind me if I AM going overboard!!! hihi
