VeraTemp Non-Contact Thermometer Rev!ew, D!scount, & G!ve-it-Away

October 8, 2012 by Shauna 100 Comments

Last month I swore Baby Miss had a fever; you know how it is, she just felt “warm” to me. So, I grabbed my “ear” thermometer and shoved the tip in her tiny ear, while holding her ear taunt and what happened? It came up to 93 degrees. I knew it was wrong but could not get the stupid tip of the thermometer in the correct position in her little ear. I was so frustrated and had no clue what to do. Within an hour or so, she started acting “sick” and I knew that she did indeed have a temperature.

This is one of the reasons that I was super excited to work with VeraTemp on a review of their Non-Contact Thermometer.  Unlike other thermometers the VeraTemp Non-Contact Thermometer is able to check a child’s temperature without contact in the ear, bum, or mouth. This means that we no longer need to throw money away on probe covers or try to get our little one to lay still while trying to take their temperature. What I really love is that it stores your last 32 temperatures, so you don’t have to rack your brain to try to remember the last temperature…

We received our VeraTemp Non-Contact Thermometer and I was so curious that I had to try it immediately. It was super-easy to use, it didn’t matter if my child was sitting up, lying down, standing or even SLEEPING; I just pointed the VeraTemp 2-3 inches from their forehead and then pressed and released the Scan Button and voila, within seconds their temperature displayed on the screen. The backlight made it easy to read the temperature and it was nice knowing that I did not have to worry about passing any germs from one child to the next.  Oh and the LED screen also displays in green, orange, or red letting you know if you child’s temperature is normal(97.3⁰F to 99.1⁰F), a smudge high(99.3⁰F to 100.2⁰F ), or very high(greater than 100.4⁰F.)

Plus, the VeraTemp Non-Contact Thermometer has three mode settings; one for surface, body, and room temperature. This means that you can use this thermometer not only to check body temperature, but also to check that your baby’s formula or bath water is not too hot, and even to check the temperature of a room or enclosed space; WOW, right? It is even clinically proven to be as accurate as both ear and rectal thermometers.

It even comes with a handy pouch!

All in all, I am super impressed in our new easy-to-use device and since our VeraTemp Non-Contact Thermometer can be used on any age, I went as far as throwing out all other “not-so-accurate” thermometers.

This is AWESOME! This needs to be distributed to every nursing home, doctor’s office, and hospital they can possibly get it to. I am an LPN in a nursing home and I see MRSA and other infections spreading like wildfire through the hospitals and nursing homes and this would be a very good tool to prevent cross contamination (as long as staff is still using good handwashing techniques) Even a forehead thermometer grosses me out. This is WONDERFUL!

what i love is that when the little one is sick and sleepy you don’t have to disturb them to check temps.

This would be perfect for my house as I am the caretaker for my husband. No one said it will not work on an adult. This is fantastic.

I love that I know this is an accurate reading. It is hard to keep them still and their mouth closed for the full time it takes for for the others to take an accurate reading!! I Love this product!!!! Thanks for an awesome giveaway!!

I love the ability to still be as accurate as other modes of reading out there.
