There is nothing in the world more frightening then sending your child into it? With today’s news constantly reminding us of horrible events and child abductions nightly, it is a given that we would all worry. I know my kids and I know that they are good kids who listen ALL the time and never stray; NOT!!! Yes, my kids are good, but they are kids; they get sidetracked and forget the rules about talking to strangers and sometimes they stray. As a Mom of three little ones, I find myself constantly counting heads when we go anyplace. And of course that moment that one of the kids is behind the slide for a moment and I can’t see them, my heart immediately stops as I begin to panic, which thankfully goes away the moment I see their smiley face round the corner back into my eyesight. Parents do all they can to protect their little ones at all times. We bombard them with rules and what-ifs and pray that they will remember every single one.

Shoot, this has been going on forever. I remember my Mother-in-law telling me a story about Hubby walking off from her in a large department store. He was only six or so and she had her hands full with his siblings, when she looked back, he was gone! Thankfully, one of the store clerks found Hubby and announced it over the loud speaker. But now a-days stores are bigger, with more exits, and the loud speakers are horrible.

These thoughts always rack my brains. Not to mention the fears of letting my child go on a school field trip, a theme park, or even just the park down the street with another Mother. I know I like his friends Mother, but do I truly trust her with my child?
