I was just thinking back to my past and am in awe that though I knew I was getting bigger and bigger I just really kept making excuses and enabling my size. Now, I know you are scratching your head asking what I mean by enabling my growing size; so let me explain. My weight has ALWAYS yo-yo’d, much like many women of today, it was a constant struggle. I would go from a size six, to sixteen then back down to a ten, then back up. This has been my life since I was a teenager.
But, when I was in my early twenties, I ballooned to a sixteen and thought that was just normal for a girl who was always working and struggling to pay bills. Within a year or two, I started going out more and more and got my home life under control and went back down to a size eight. I was happy but didn’t think much about it.
Then when I got pregnant with Little Man, I went to a size ten, then I lost some, got pregnant again, gained, then lost, got pregnant again, gained a whole bunch more; well, you get the story. But instead of thinking that my weight SHOULD stay at a certain weight since my last pregnancy I assumed it was normal to continue to continue to get heavier. Making the excuse that I had kids and didn’t have time for myself.
Little by little I noticed that things didn’t fit so well anymore and instead of changing my lifestyle, I bought new clothing (notice the excuses and enabling?)Soon I was unable to wrap my towel around myself comfortably and assumed it was because my chest got bigger having nursed three children, so what did I do? I went out and purchased some bath SHEETS to replace my towels (Again, excuses and enabling myself!)
Now looking back I am ashamed at how many excuses I made for myself and how I enabled my weight-gain with those excuses.
Today, thanks to Nutrisystem teaching me the steps to a healthier lifestyle I am done with excuses and enabling! As I step out of the shower and wrap myself in a normal towel, I know I am where I should be in life, at the size I should be! No excuses… No enabling…
So, I ask you… are you at the weight you think you should be? Are YOU making excuses and enabling yourself? Think about it and comment below!!!

Well done for taking control. I believe we don’t fully engage with things inour lives (such as weight loss) until we have a good enough reason. when have that big ‘why’ then you will be unstoppable. It also helps when you make yourself accountable to others.
