The must-see movie of the year – Safe Haven (#Spon)

At a Mom’s night out I asked the group of ladies their favorite genre of movies. Would you believe that every single one said Nicholas Sparks movies, ha, ha, ha! We immediately started reminiscing about the first time we saw The Notebook, Dear John, and A Walk to Remember so I had to let them know that I had seen a press showing of the newest movie Safe Haven!

Of course I began by telling them how goo goo I felt for Josh Duhamel who was super-sexy in the movie and how amazing I though Julianne Hough did. I went on to explain that this love story felt real… let me explain; it is not just a movie about a woman who ends up in a little town to get away from a scary past, it is more than that!!!

You see, when I saw the movie previews that is all I thought this movie was; a cheesy love story, but it was so much more.

Josh Duhamel plays Alex, a widowed man and father of two children who are still mourning for the mother they lost all too early in life. Though Alex has done an amazing job of raising his two little ones, you can tell that there is still a hole in their lives. Then along comes a young woman played by  Julianne Hough to bring laughter into their lives.

As I have lost a loved one in the past, I could relate to all the feelings that Alex was having, the awkwardness of opening himself up to a new relationship was all too close to home.  He was scared and believable and left himself opened to new possibilities. It was just REAL!!!

The theater was full of ‘oohs and ahhhs!’ of course some laughter, and many sniffles. There was a huge twist in the movie that was not expected that just made our hearts melt. And just like any Nicholas Sparks movie we saw red eyes everywhere as we walked out of the theater.

All in all, I know that all of my girlfriends and even my sixteen-year-old step-daughter are set to see it, so  I know this will be the feel good movie of the year!  I definitely recommend that everyone grab their girlfriends, boyfriends, husbands, and wives and go see this movie! It will make you smile!
