I should have been Italian! Why, you may ask? Well, because I am a HUGE bread-lover, I mean HUGE! I also passed this trait onto my kids, which means that we go through A LOT of bread in this house. When we combined homes with my In-laws I chuckled at the site of my Father-in-law grabbing bread with each meal, as well. Since then bread has been a staple side at every dinner and you can always count on the fact that we will have French Toast at each family brunch. So, all of that being said, I had no issues trying a couple different King’s Hawaiian breads for review.
We were sent a package with a couple different King’s Hawaiian products to try, including the Original Hawaiian Sweet Half-Sliced Bread, Hawaiian Sweet Round Bread, Hawaiian Sweet Rolls.
The very night we received our package I included the Hawaiian Sweet Rolls with dinner and they were so scrumptious. Taking only a few minutes to heat in the oven, they came out fluffy and just melt-in your mouth!
The rolls went perfectly with our meal and were gone in no time!
What I love about King’s Hawaiian is that you can find numerous King’s Hawaiian recipes on their website, including some Oscars- inspired Recipes:
- Mango Curry Shrimp Salad inspired by Life of Pi
- Hearty Cajun Andouille Sausage Dip inspired by Beasts of the Southern Wild
- Mini Sliders inspired by Silver Lining Playbook
- French Toast inspired by Les Misérables
After going back and forth on what I wanted to make for our next family brunch, I decided on the Baked Apple Cinnamon Toast using the King’s Hawaiian Sweet Round Bread! It was super-easy to make and took no-time.
Ingredients:
- 4 Eggs slightly beaten
- 1 1/2 cups Milk
- 1/2 cup Sugar divided
- 2 tsp Ground cinnamon divided
- 1 Large apple cored peeled and thinly sliced
- 2 Tbsp Butter or margarine
- KING’S HAWAIIAN Original Hawaiian Sweet Round Bread
First of all, I was shocked at how fresh the bread was. Between you and me, it had been like five days since I received the bread that I was worried it would be a bit stale, but it was so soft and airy, I couldn’t help but take a couple bites while cubing the bread.
After baking the French Toast it was ready for our family brunch!

All in all, I am won over by King’s Hawaiian! Not only is the bread super-fresh, it is soft, chewy, and so super-sweet. It is the perfect addition to every meal and great for yummy recipes.
