Why not help the Boys & Girls Clubs by doing what you love; shopping? #Sponsored #Tools4BTS

*Disclosure – I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Boys & Girls Clubs of America. I received a promotional item as a thank you for participating.

I can’t tell you how excited I am to find out that I was chosen to be a Boys & Girls Club (BGCA) Back-to-School Ambassador. Why does this mean so much to me? Well, it is simple… I was a teenage run away! I know, shocking, right? Anyways, I left home at fifteen and a place called The Opened Door, which was a runaway shelter affiliated with the Boys & Girls Club helped me get home. They offered counseling programs and did everything in their power to help me transition back home, including housing me and tutoring me. If it wasn’t for that program, I am unsure of what would have happened to me.

Now as an adult I try to do my part to return the favor by volunteering at after school programs with the BGCA, as well as, offering my time to tutor children. I am always super-impressed at the way that the BGCA goes above and beyond to help children in need by offering after-school programs, initiatives, and more. This is where you can help! BGCA has partnered with jcpenney for the ‘jcpenney cares round up campaign.’ This is so cool; when shopping at JCP in the month of July, you will have the chance to round-up your purchase to the nearest whole dollar to help make a difference in supporting after-school programs at Boys & Girls Clubs across the country. And guess what? 100% of donations raised will go towards BGCA! NICE!!!  Funds raised at checkout will go toward supporting BGCA’s More Members More Often initiative.  The initiative focuses on attracting more young people to join the Club, motivating existing members to increase their participation and retaining youth as members over longer periods of time.

So please, I am asking you now to do your part to help and you don’t have to go out of your way to do it. All you have to do is shop!!!  So why not go ahead and get your back-to-school shopping done now? Or why wait on buying that little black dress you have been eyeing; this is the perfect opportunity to shop and help the Boys & Girls Clubs!
