#BlogHer13 Day One Recap…

I can’t believe that BlogHer’13 has already come and gone. It seemed like just yesterday I was stressing over which ticket to purchase and where I should stay. And in the end, the whole event seemed to just fly by and I was home, taking a deep breath, looking through my 313 photos!

This years BlogHer was in Chicago which was really nice for me, since my roomies, the beautiful ladies from SweepTight just happen to live in that area. They had no issues providing feedback on what to bring and made life easier by providing all the necessities for our hotel room, such as toiletries and the Keurig!

Since I was in Chicago for a total of 4.5 days, I was able to attend many, many events… So instead of making one very long post, I figured I would break my BlogHer trip down by days… Here is my Day ONE recap!

I flew out of San Antonio early on Wednesday morning and thankfully my flight was uneventful until I arrived in Chicago to find that Southwest Airlines damaged my luggage 🙁 Then as I walked outside I realized I was very under-dressed; turns out that the over 100 degree heatwave broke the evening before my arrival, so I arrived with nothing but tank tops and sundresses to be greeted by 52 degree weather! But it was amazing to catch up with my roomies over a quick lunch before heading out to purchase a ‘CHICAGO’ sweatshirt, then back to the hotel room to unpack before our first off-site, non-BlogHer Sponsored events.

It was nice to be WELCOMED by Chicago!

The first event of the trip was meeting the amazing reps from FlatOut Bread who took us on an awesome trolley ride with the local improve musical group, Mansical. We had a blast drinking wine out of a can, snacking on some yummy FlatOut treats, while laughing hysterically to Mansical.

FlatOut Bread served us a nice assortment of yummies, along with wine in a can!

The evening was filled with just as much excitement as we boarded a Seadog Speedboat Cruise to see the Chicago fireworks! It was an amazing night filled with beautiful skyline views, a harvest moon, front row seats to the extrodinary fireworks, as well as, some interesting Chicago facts from our amazing guide. The event was sponsored by Madame Deals and some amazing brands, such as The Beatrix Girls, 4Imprint, and the list goes on… To see my full post on the event, CLICK HERE!
