McDonald’s – A family favorite; good food for less

If you ask any of my kids where they would like to eat at any time their answer is unanimous; McDonald's. Whether we are celebrating a birthday, out running errands, or even looking for good food for less, after a soccer game the choice is simple, we stop by our neighborhood McDonald's. Take this past Saturday, for example; we spent the morning on the soccer field and by lunch time we were all famished and knew just where to go. Placing an … [Read more...]

Lose the weight-loss excuses & learn about Nutrisystem #NSNation

Hello everyone... The other day I was talking to a friend who is a bit overweight. She was going on and on about how she knew she was overweight and that she wished she could lose weight, but that she didn't have the drive to do it. I love this person and wish her the best, but unless SHE faced herself and stopped the weight-loss excuses to make the decision to change, I know she won't. Today, I want to talk to you about that light-bulb moment … [Read more...]

Help keep music & art in schools with the 20 Days of School Adopt-a-School program

Have you heard about the "20 Days of School" Adopt-a-School program? Let me take a step back and tell you about why keeping extra-curricular activities in schools is important to me. At the end of the last school year I was blessed enough to be able to spend the day at Little Man's school to watch the field day events. For anyone that does not know, Field Day is a day filled with races, events, and competitions for each school child. I remember … [Read more...]

Don’t wait for the truck, make an ice cream run! #IceCreamRun

It has officially begun, no, not Summer, but Texas Summer where temperatures pass the 100 degree mark. Wow, right? Yup, I despise Texas Summers, since I am a girl from the North East who is not used to the heat. If I'm not not in the AC I am in the pool or trying to find ways to beat the heat. For example, the other day I was running around with the kids. Baby Miss was in a cranky mood and wanted to be Princess Snow White and Little Man thought … [Read more...]

Losing weight with Nutrisystem Week 3 (#NSNation)

I have officially finished week 3 of my Nutrisystem journey and things have been crazy. First of all, I have been tracking my daily food, water, and exercise on the Nutrisystem app, which is really helpful. The only problem is that I have been struggling getting even 1,000 calories a day. I know, crazy right? When I say that to Hubby he laughs and says that is one meal for him. HA! Anyways, I have been struggling, so I reached out to my … [Read more...]

Six Steps to a Happy Marriage

Hubby and I have been together for over ten years. I know, I can't believe it, either. When we first started dating I think that our friends were taking bets to see how long it would last. You see, we came from the same circle of friends and both have a bit of a past, so when we got together everyone just thought it would be a fling. I am not sure it if was timing or kismet or what, but somehow we just worked well together. How does a … [Read more...]
