Losing weight with Nutrisystem Week 3 (#NSNation)

Nutrisystem Nation BloggerI have officially finished week 3 of my Nutrisystem journey and things have been crazy. First of all, I have been tracking my daily food, water, and exercise on the Nutrisystem app, which is really helpful. The only problem is that I have been struggling getting even 1,000 calories a day. I know, crazy right? When I say that to Hubby he laughs and says that is one meal for him. HA! Anyways, I have been struggling, so I reached out to my Nutrisystem Counselor who was happy with the fact that I was losing weight, but came up with some suggestions, as well as, a handy food guide.

She advised that I was definitely not getting enough calories and that I should be getting about 1800 calories a day. UGH, palm to forehead now! She told me that I need to add one PowerFuel and one Smartcarb at each meal time: breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, and dinner. Which is a total of 5 PowerFuels and 5 SmartCarbs each day.

Nutrisystem NSNationBetween you and me, that is a lot of food. She also gave me suggestions of:

PowerFuel- 1 cup fat free cottage cheese with SC- 1 cup of fruit

PowerFuel- 2 ounces low fat deli cut turkey with SC- 1 slice whole wheat bread (1tsp low fat mayonnaise as an extra)

PowerFuel-1 oz string cheese with SC-100 calorie serving os whole wheat crackers

So, I had to make some changes. For example, one day I was grabbing my lunch to take to my computer and decided to grab an afternoon snack, as well. Instead of just a Nutrisystem Lunch Meal Bar, I also made a half of a turkey sandwich and grabbed a Greek Yogurt for an afternoon snack. It was a great idea since I tend to get lost in my work and forget to go back down for my afternoon snack!

Lunch and snack NutrisystemBy about mid-week I started getting a hang of things and started adding more food into my diet, which sounds strange, right? I mean, who wants to add on food when you are losing weight? I guess the difference is knowing which foods are helpful in losing weight.

Anyways, I guess it is just a learning process which definitely has been working because I found out that I could fit into the shorts I purchased last year on clearance but never actually fit into. (Come on, you know we all do it, you see a pair of shorts you like and they are only $5 but are a size too small, you still get them, right?)

Short fitOne of my favorite things so far is that I don’t feel like I am missing out on anything. On movie night I was able to enjoy some Nutrisystem popcorn while the kids had their movie snacks.

Nutrisystem Popcorn for movie nightAnd the other day when we stopped at Wendy’s I used my Nutrisystem Eating Out Guide to help me choose what to eat.

But what it all comes down to is the scale, right? Well, I am happy to let you know that as of Monday, I am down a total of seventeen pounds. WOW! Awesome, right? I have also kept up with my workout routine, which has helped me lose four inches from my waist and two from my hips. Nutrisystem Nation Week 3 Recap
