3 Fun Mixed Drink Recipes YOU Will Want to Try

3 Fun mixed drink recipes

I have always been infatuated with those people in movies who can just take a glass, fill it with whiskey or bourbon and just swig it. Now, I am not saying that I haven’t tried it, because in all honesty, I have… but I just can’t do it out of the blue. Ha! That being said, I have heard that whiskey sales on the rise, with more people discovering that there are plenty of ways to drink the distilled spirit than just straight on the rocks. So, since the folks at Portland-based Eastside Distilling were kind enough to send me an assortment of whiskys and bourbons, I thought I would try some mixed drink recipes. Whiskey recipes

Drink mixologists enjoy finding more and more ways to complement the whiskey flavor with a plethora of other ingredients, whether its syrups, fruit juices, vermouth or even tea. A growing willingness to experiment with whiskey and bourbon as the primary ingredient in a variety of cocktails is just one of several ways consumer habits have been changing, says Steven Earles, CEO of Portland-based Eastside Distilling (www.EastsideDistilling.com). “People are drinking less wine and more whiskey, and women have become more inclined to give whiskey a try,” says Earles, whose company already experiments with a variety of flavors in its drinks, such as Cherry Bomb Whiskey and Oregon Marionberry Whiskey.

Now, to get started, I searched the Eastside Distilling website for mixed drink recipes and found a TON! I was most excited about trying the Cherry Bomb Whiskey, so I started with a couple of mixed drink recipes that included that and went on from there!

Here are my top three mixed drink recipes:

Cherry Cola – Recipe found HERE – easy enough, just combine Cherry Bomb Whiskey with Coke and add some cherry garnish!

In the end, I had a blast making some new mixed drinks and have a whole new taste for whiskey and bourbon. Will I drink it straight up? Um, no… I don’t think I will be doing that anytime soon; but I will be having fun trying out other mixed drink recipes and may even come up with a few of my own.
