Guess what? We will be heading to South Padre Island this Spring Break we can’t wait. We will be staying at the Schlitterbahn Waterpark Beach Resort, which in itself is filled with a ton of activities, but we still wanted to plan some off resort activities, as well. I mean, why go to South Padre Island without seeing what is around right? I started searching for family-friendly activities and these South Padre Island cruises kept popping up.
So, I did some research and found out that there is a whole line of fun South Padre Island cruises and trips available through Osprey Cruises, that offer the best family-fun around. Nice, right? You can choose from taking a ride on their Thriller! Our 55′ Speedboat to checking out their Bay Fishing or Deep Sea Fishing Trips, as well as their Private charters, plus more. I mean, they really have something for everyone. After looking further, we decided on scheduling two trips with Osprey Cruises. The first will be an afternoon on their well-known Black Dragon Pirate Ship Cruise. Folks, my kids are so super-excited about this one that they haven’t stopped talking about it! HA!
On the Black Dragon Pirate Ship Cruise, we will meet Captain Black-Hearted Andy, “Scourge Of the Laguna Madre,” and his jolly crew of wastrels and brigands on the interactive pirate adventure cruise. I can’t wait to see the crew of professional pirates who will entertain us with pirate stories, face painting, treasure hunts, water pistol battles, sword fighting, music, and loads of family fun for us all. Plus, I hear we may even see a dolphin or two swimming around! The best part is that with all of the fun and entertainment, I know that each of us, from adult to child will have a great time.
For our other South Padre Island cruise will be taking the family on the Sea Life Safari Cruise. This cruise will take place on the passenger yacht Osprey which has a high profile and is exceptionally well suited for sightseeing. From the upper deck we will have panoramic views and with binoculars will be able to see for miles (and there is a lot to see). We can’t wait to experience dolphin life while sightseeing and learning about the local wildlife and ecology of the Laguna Madre. Plus, they will use a trawling net to bring sea life directly to us.
What is amazing about these South Padre Island cruises is that every trip offers a unique experience and there’s nothing to match it on the Texas coast. I know our entire family will enjoy our adventures and if you are traveling to South Padre, you will too!
Have you ever taken one of the South Padre Island Cruises?
