Treasure Hunt Book
This Summer has been filled with a ton of activity as we have kept the kids busy with vacations, swim team, pool time, and family time. All of that being said, we have made sure to keep reading books as a top priority, as we know that any slacking will hurt the kids when they go back to school. Having a soon-to-be fourth, second, and first-grader has been a whole new world to us as all three are finally at that age where they all enjoy the same types of books; a.k.a. adventure books. So, when the folks at MomSelect reached out to us about the newest James Patterson book, Treasure Hunters: Peril at the Top of the Worldwe couldn’t hide our excitement.

Reading Treasure Hunters Together

I have always loved the New York Times bestselling author and Children’s Choice Book Award Author of the Year, James Patterson, and my love only grew deeper last year when Little Miss and I read his Jacky Ha-Ha! book together. This newest book, book four in the Treasure Hunters series was just as good, as it kept us all engaged and laughing throughout.Treasure Hunters James Patterson

The Treasure Hunters series follows the life of the Kidd family and their adventures treasure hunting through the world. In this book,  the Kidd family start off in Italy and then fly to Russia, where a set of priceless paintings by Leonardo da Vinci and Rembrandt has gone missing. In order to find the biggest treasure ever, they have to solve clues, fight bad guys, and even figure out a way out of jail. Little Man, Little Miss, and even Baby Miss and I read the book together, each taking turns reading a chapter after another. We laughed and giggled at the camaraderie between each of the family members as they chased down the notorious Enlightened Ones… a.k.a. the ones behind the stolen treasures of the world.  Chase Treasure

Little Man seemed to take to the older brother, Tommy, as their vain personalities and hair obsessions seemed to mesh. Little Miss and Baby Miss were obsessed with Beck and Bick, the twins who always seemed to get themselves in the middle of all the trouble. Of course, I loved the parents, both ex-CIA agents who, of course, always had a plan to get out of their dangerous situations. Oh, and all of us just loved the amusing pictures  throughout the book that added more humor to the whole adventure.

The action never stops with more chases, sneak attacks, spy missions, and double-crossing than anyone can handle…except the Kidd family. So, if you are looking for a fun adventure book for your kids or middle-schoolers to read, I would suggest picking up a copy of Treasure Hunters: Peril at the Top of the World, by James Patterson and Chris Grabenstein.

  1. These books sound like something that kids can really enjoy! Reading so important for kids to do as they continue to grow.

  2. Treasure Hunters sounds like a great book! I think this is a perfect example of James Patterson’s writing ability. If you can go from heinous murder to a kids’ book, you MUST be awesome.

  3. You know, when I first heard that James Patterson was doing children’s books, I was like, “I dunno about that…” But now that I think about it, his style really does lend itself to those books if you take out the blood and bad people.
