Have you heard of the tradition of “Booing your Neighbor?” Well, it has been around for several years now and it has really grown in popularity as a fun, safe, family-oriented activity that really brings a neighborhood together. It’s also known as “Ghosting” or “Boo-gramming.” I have heard of many people who have been received a ‘Boo It Forward’ kit before, but I have never participated until now, as we have partnered with Walmart and are using the home entertainment release of GHOSTBUSTERS, which came out on digital 9/27 and on Blu-ray/DVD on 10/11 to put together the perfect “Boo It Forward” kit.
It all starts with the right “Boo It Forward” kit and ours includes some popcorn, candy, and, of course, a copy of GHOSTBUSTERS on DVD/BlueRay, along with info on how to “boo” and a poem. Once delivered the recipient has 48 hours to do it to their next door neighbor or friend which creates a chain throughout the neighborhood
Next, the kids and discussed which neighbor to Boo! We chose a neighbor a couple of housed down, since they are new to the neighborhood, thinking it would be a great way to welcome them. We then waited for dusk, when we knew that they would be home and we went and left our kit on their front door, rang the bell, and ran!
Talk about fun, right? Want to give it a try? Head to Walmart to pick up a fun pumpkin or basket, fill it with some delicious candy, and, of course, the GHOSTBUSTERS movie on BluRay/ DVD and find a neighbor to Boo! Once you do, come back and let me know how it went!
Have you ever made a “Boo It Forward” kit?
